Tara K. O’Cain serves as Lead Family Law Attorney at Seidlich Law, bringing more than 20 years of courtroom and child advocacy experience to the firm. A seasoned litigator with extensive trial experience, Tara is known for her strategic preparation, confident courtroom presence, and unwavering dedication to protecting families and children during life’s most challenging moments. Before joining Seidlich Law, Tara served as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida’s 10th Judicial Circuit, where she prosecuted a high volume of cases and conducted numerous jury and non-jury trials. Her responsibilities included depositions, evidentiary hearings, motion practice, witness examinations, and complex case preparation. For more than a decade prior, she worked as a Senior Attorney and Director of Internships with the Florida Department of Children and Families, handling dependency proceedings and termination of parental rights trials. In that leadership role, she developed litigation strategy, advised state agencies on legal rights and obligations, and supervised law students preparing to enter the profession. Her deep experience in child welfare law provides her with unique insight in custody, timesharing, and high-conflict family law cases. Tara began her legal career advocating for children through the Guardian ad Litem Program and previously served as a certified Probation and Parole Officer in Louisiana—experience that gives her a comprehensive understanding of how family, criminal, and child protection matters intersect. A graduate of Barry University School of Law, Tara has been a member in good standing of The Florida Bar since 2009. She earned her Bachelor of Politics, cum laude, from St. Andrews Presbyterian College. At Seidlich Law, Tara leads the firm’s family law division with integrity, strength, and precision—guiding clients through divorce, custody disputes, and complex family litigation with clarity, compassion, and relentless advocacy.
